Dark Duality
Jevon
My last project was about love, hope, and becoming the man I wanted to be. Dark Duality is what happened after that version of me died. There came a point where I realized the person I had been—the way I thought, the way I loved, the way I moved through life—wasn't going to take me where I knew I was meant to go. If I wanted to reach the heights I'd always dreamed of, I had to let that version of myself go. So I buried him. What I didn't expect was what came after. When my relationship ended, I wasn't just grieving the loss of someone I loved. I was grieving the death of who I used to be. In that process, I met parts of myself I'd never seen before. The jealousy. The anger. The recklessness. The pride. The loneliness. The version of me that wanted to destroy instead of heal.
I couldn't believe what I saw. I thought I was past that.
But I couldn't pretend it wasn't me.
For a long time, I believed growth meant becoming a better person by leaving the darkness behind. Now I think growth begins when you're willing to look your shadow in the eye and admit that it's been with you all along.
Dark Duality isn't me celebrating that darkness. It's me refusing to lie about it. This project is the sound of ego dying, love being lost, and a man confronting every part of himself—especially the ones he'd spent his whole life trying to hide.
Because you don't become whole by pretending your shadow doesn't exist.
You become whole the moment you stop running from it.
